Once admitted to SIU Aviation Technologies, you will work with an advisor to create your schedule and discuss opportunities outside of the classroom ranging from finding student employment to applying for scholarships to getting involved in student groups. For advisor contact information, go here.
Transfer student considerations
Transfer students, you will work with your advisor and SIU’s Transfer Student Services to make sure the process goes as smoothly as possible. For general transfer questions, go here https://admissions.siu.edu/apply/transfer/index.php. To see a list of courses that transfer from various schools and community colleges to SIU, search here http://tss.siu.edu/PROD/campus/articulation/articulation/. SIU requires certain university core curriculum (UCC) courses to be completed in order to graduate. You can find the *required categories and course options to complete each category here https://registrar.siu.edu/schedclass/index.php.
*Students transferring in with an AAS degree, or who have completed or plan to complete the FAA A&P certificates are eligible for the Capstone option. This allows the student to complete the degree with fewer UCC. The courses our AVT Capstone students do not take are: English 102, UCOL 101, Human Health, and the second Humanities requirement.
