SIU Aviation is a proud member of our community and is committed to providing opportunities to our youth. As such we offer a number of programs designed to allow children and teenagers the opportunity to experience aviation first hand. Select a program below for more information.
Aviation Career Days give prospective SIU Aviation students a chance to see what SIU Aviation has to offer with a tour of the facilities and, in most cases, a flight to campus from Chicago O'Hare airport.
Field trips are a great way to introduce grade-school age children to aviation with an airport tour and more.
This gives older students the opportunity to experience a job in aviation first-hand by shadowing one of our pilots for a day.
Let's Wing It! is SIU Aviation's community outreach program bringing aviation to local schools and other organizations.
This aviation oriented summer camp gives high-school students the opportunity to experience aviation through classroom and flight training as well as other events and activities.
This NASA-sponsored camp gives high school students the opportunity to learn more about how space communications and navigation systems impact and benefit aviation. Participants must be nominated by a guidance counselor or teacher.
